Full Job Description

Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) mission is to lead the DoD in finance and accounting by ensuring the delivery of efficient, exceptional quality pay and financial information.

Telework availability is limited and will only be provided on a rare case-by-case basis during situations where Agency Leadership has determined that telework serves a compelling DoD need.

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as: Specialized experience is defined as: Analytical, planning, advisory, operational, or evaluative work that has as its principal purpose the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, standards, training and methods related to at least two of the following security program types: Antiterrorism, Operations Security, Physical Security or Information Security.

Paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience.

Major Duties:

  • Serve as the Supervisor and Site authority with responsibility for oversight and policy implementation for the DFAS Physical Security, Antiterrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP), Information Security and Operations Security (OPSEC) Programs.
  • Provides program oversight and administers policies, practices, and metrics that reflect the security posture of a DFAS site.
  • Interprets directives, regulations, and polices to ensure all possible problems are considered in developing the Site Physical, Information and Operational Security as well as AT/FP protocol and plans.
  • Develops and issues Site guidance and procedures in the form of policy and program objectives based on areas of regulatory and procedural deficiencies.
  • Conducts security inspections and assessments to determine program compliance and effectiveness levels.
