Full Job Description

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: : Serve as the Chief of Guards managing workforce protecting physical property, conventional arms and ammunition, and personnel on the installation.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes planning and coordinating the activities of security guards to ensure standards are met; developing and supervising training courses based on regulatory requirements; performing managerial and administrative duties related to security guard force; and recommending selections, promotions, and award actions.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). Major Duties:

  • Plan, develop, and conduct inspections of government property to ensure compliance.
  • Evaluate and review guard duties to identify training needs and ensure operational effectiveness.
  • Conduct review of Standing Operating Procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance with currant standards.
  • Oversee the development, and execution of training plans, including specialized training programs to enhance guard readiness and performance.
