The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) provides fitness, recreation, lodging and food and beverage programs for service members, their families, retired military and civilian employees.
Knowledge of principles, techniques, and methods of procedure used in organizing, planning, administering, and conducting a wide variety of recreation activities.
Must have a strong understanding of the scope of recreational activities and their suitability for individuals, groups, ages and interests.
Must be an innovative and capable leader and able to perform duties with limited supervision.
Possess a customer-oriented personality to include tact and diplomacy in order to communicate with both personnel and patrons.
Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with targeted 18-24-year-old group of single military personnel, advisory groups, MWR and community program personnel, and local community program representatives and vendors.
Must be able to operate a computer and have an in-depth knowledge of software packages such as Microsoft Office, Excel, etc. Must be able to make sound decisions and exercise good judgement.
Major Duties:
Oversee the growth, development, marketing and day-to-day operations of the Liberty Programs.
Develop, organize, implement and evaluate recurring and non-recurring activities which include but are not limited to classes, trips, tournaments, outreach opportunities, special events, and skills development.
Implements procedures to assure health and safety programs are in compliance with safety regulations and follow current industry standards.
Resolve customer complaints and solicit feedback to improve the quality of services rendered. Utilizes patron surveys and track results for program improvement.
Maintain telephone, email and personal contacts with command representatives, industry professionals, equipment representatives, special interest groups, local community, area clubs, and civic organizations.
Prepare and justify annual and quarterly operating budgets for the Liberty Program.
Preparation requires a needs assessment of population served, inclusion of projected payroll and training expenses, allowing purchasing, upkeep of facilities/offices, program expenses, and projected supply needs, contractual expenses, and other SAP line items.
Tracks and accounts for Credit Card purchases maintain up-to-date records and proper documentation..
