To qualify for a Supervisory Property Disposal Specialist your resume and supporting documentation must support: A.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled.

To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector.

Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement.

Creditable specialized experience includes: Disposing of property through reutilization, transfer, donation, sales, abandonment and/or destruction or removal via service contract.

Coordinating contractor and outsourcing needs, agreements, and performance monitoring.

Experience in the business of surplus property disposition to include principles of DEMIL property and DEMIL requirements, receiving, warehousing, reutilization, merchandising and marketing, business financial management and human resource management.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

  • Directs and manages the operations of a DLA Disposition Services site and provides supervision over key personnel and DLA Disposition Services supervisors
  • Analyzes, plans, and affects best utilization and management of Disposition Services business operations and resources.
  • Oversees the preparation of property for disposal in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding storage, movement, and disposition with specific priority regarding hazardous material, environmental issues, and/or demilitarization
  • Submits annual budget and operating plan recommendations. Tracks and monitors operating budget, cost reduction programs, reutilization, and profit projections.
  • Directs staff in innovative approaches to resolving problems and improving processes.
