Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737

This position is located in the U.S. International Trade Commission, Office of Analysis and Research Services, Statistical Analysis and Methodology Division.
As a Supervisory Survey Statistician, you will be supervising a team of statisticians in the collection, compilation, and analysis of data; preparation of reports; and the presentation of relevant info.
In addition, you will supervise the development of analytic and management data tools, review products, and advance office initiatives.

THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE SOLICITATION - These positions are being advertised through the Direct Hire Authority (DHA) for Scientific, Technical, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) positions at the GS-11 through GS-15 grade levels (or equivalent) nationwide for enabling simple and strategic hiring to attract top talent to create a workforce for the 21st century where a severe-shortage or critical hiring need has been identified.
GRADE LEVEL REQUIREMENTS: In addition to meeting the Basic Entry Requirements above, applicants must have the experience listed below.
To qualify at the GS-15 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service or private sector.
Specialized experience would include the following: planning and carrying out statistical research; collecting, querying, and analyzing detailed economic data; maintaining and applying statistical models; creating and maintaining databases; analyzing statistical findings; preparing reports; and presenting results, both orally and in writing.
You must provide a copy of your transcript to support this requirement. Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level. Major Duties:
Directing, providing guidance, and reviewing the work products of statisticians in Grades GS-9 through GS-14 in planning and carrying out statistical research; collecting, querying, and analyzing detailed economic data; maintaining and applying statistical models; creating and maintaining databases; analyzing findings; preparing reports; and presenting results.
Providing technical advice concerning the use of statistical techniques.
Serving as the authoritative representative for the Commission on statistical matters by attending and presenting key information at professional conferences, reviewing, formulating, testing, developing, and evaluating new theories, principles, and concepts, and advance state-of-the-art theories, and new research techniques.
Conducting and reviewing independent statistical research in support of the Office of Analysis and Research Services (OARS) and Commission analysis projects.
Planning work and administrative matters to be accomplished by subordinates, setting priorities, supervising the preparation of schedules for completion of work, and making decisions on work problems presented by subordinates.
Evaluating performance of subordinates, interviewing candidates for vacant positions in the Division, recommending selections for appointments, and recommending promotions or reassignments involving such positions.
Reviewing, identifying, and arranging for fulfillment of developmental and training needs for all employees assigned to the Division.
Exercising responsibility to ensure the effective implementation and operation of guidelines concerning equal employment opportunity for minority groups and women.
