This position is with the CYS Child Development Center (6wks-5yrs) at Fort Polk, Louisiana. This is a Temporary (NTE 180 days) Full-Time position with a minimum work week of 40 hours.
Eligible for benefits and leave accrual.
Child and Youth Services (CYS) Regular and FLEX employees (working a minimum of 15 hours) will receive a 100% discount on childcare for their first child and at least 25% for each additional child.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: (QUAL 1) Successful completion of a bachelor's degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study (at least 24 semester hours) in the fields appropriate to the position consistent with: Education must have been directly related to the position to be filled (general psychology/sociology courses are not qualifying).
-For positions in Child Development Facilities: The education must have been in child development, early childhood education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled such as directly related behavioral science.
OR (QUAL 2) A combination of education and experience - courses equivalent to a major in a subject matter field (24 semester hours) appropriate to the position (see above), plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the four-year course of study described above.
In addition to meeting one of the requirements above (QUAL 1 or QUAL 2), candidate must also possess all of the following: 1.
Experience supervising or leading caregivers within child/youth facility-based programs. 2. Experience managing a classroom setting within child and youth programs. 3.
Experience implementing and overseeing a structured child and youth program curriculum. 4.
Demonstrated verbal communication skills gained through conducting training, delivering presentations, conducting meetings with parents and/or staff, or similar. Major Duties:
