Summary

This job involves leading a team to manage and maintain advanced undersea surveillance systems for the U.S. Navy, ensuring everything from equipment to personnel is ready for global operations.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PROGRAM MANAGER in the Advanced Capabilities and Devlopment Directorate of COMMANDER UNDERSEA SURVEILLANCE.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector managing a workforce to ensure program readiness (e.g.

operational, material, personnel, maintenance, sustainment, contract performance) for an organizations mission.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will lead program personnel in the daily global operation, maintenance, sustainment, and material readiness of mission support system.
  • You will ensure the highest level of personnel, equipment, and operational readiness and support to program customers.
  • You will provide leadership and management for the design/development, acquisition, integration, and implementation of mission support systems and assets in support of the mission.
  • You will engage directly and frequently with industry partners at the executive level (Vice President and Director level) to provide objectives and continuing guidance for the planning, development, planning and implementation of mission systems.
  • You will oversee periodic site readiness assessments and sustainment inspections.
  • You will monitor and evaluate the activities of project teams to ensure continuing focus on defined objectives, and to critically assess the nature of interim findings and work products.
  • You will manage and provide expert oversight and assessment for the iterative development and continuing refinement of design and build specifications for specialty components and systems.
  • You will provide management and oversight for facility/construction design, including approving designs at increasingly more detailed levels to ensure compliance with all governing local/federal standards.
  • You will manage the development of real estate agreements and memorandums of understanding (MOUs) to legally document real estate ownership.
  • You will manage the execution of Inter-Service Support Agreements and Base Arrangements in collaboration with local Base Commanders (O-6 level) and Regional Commanders.
  • You will evaluate work in progress to assure it meets its commitments in terms of achieving technical and other performance milestones, as well as executing approved schedules and budgets.
  • You will regularly brief the Commander/Deputy Commander and other stakeholders (e.g., Senior Department of Defense (DoD) partners and customers) as to the status and progress of all assigned efforts.
