Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team to manage the support, production, and logistics for advanced hypersonic weapon systems in the Navy, ensuring everything from planning to budgeting runs smoothly.

It requires overseeing strategies that keep costs down while meeting performance needs throughout the development process.

A good fit would be someone with strong leadership experience in defense projects, a knack for technical planning, and familiarity with government acquisition rules.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-13 or equivalent level managing programs and leading multi-discipline teams
  • Expertise in providing technical direction, product support, and management to optimize support costs in acquisition processes

  • Experience in planning, budgeting, and executing production, logistics, and facilities for weapon systems from R&D to fleet use

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or NH-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing programs and coordinating/leading a multi-discipline product team, providing technical direction, product support, and management activities required to ensure supportability performance capabilities are considered early and through the acquisition process to optimize support costs.

Major Duties:

  • You will serve as the Principal Assistant Program Manager (PAPM) for Product Support for the Hypersonic Weapon System program office.
  • You will be responsible for the Hypersonic Weapon System comprehensive product support strategy (PSS), and be formally designated as the Product Support Manager (PSM).
  • You will define and manage the Product Support budget and provide technical input to both acquisition and contract strategies.
  • You will manage program planning and execution of Hypersonic Weapon System Production, Logistics, and Facilities from research and development through production and fleet use.
  • You will plan, budget and technically manage missile procurement, production and associated logistics support.
  • You will draft, analyze, integrate, review and provide recommendations to Senior Strategic System Programs Leadership for milestone and other documentation in accordance with Government, DOD, and Navy regulations.
