Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading and coordinating support programs for Navy families and service members in Japan, focusing on readiness, crisis response, and resource management.

It requires overseeing budgets, staff, and policies to ensure effective services in a challenging overseas environment with limited medical access.

A good fit would be someone with experience in human services leadership, strong organizational skills, and a background in military or family support programs.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-13 level or equivalent, developing and implementing family and service member readiness programs
  • Experience managing multi-million dollar budgets, including federal and reimbursable funds

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PROGRAM MANAGER in the Fleet and Family Support Center ofCOMMANDER, NAVAL REGION JAPAN . ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED.

Please see Additional Information section below.*** In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing and implementing family and service member programs related to readiness in the Family Fleet Support Program.

  • You will a assists the Fleet and Family Service Center (FFSC) Site Director in management, control, development, and coordination and execution of assigned programs.
  • You will serve as a direct liaison between Commander, Navy Installations Command Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) and installation Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC) Directors for contracted services within.
  • You will manages a multi-million dollar regional budget including direct Base Operating Support funding plus reimbursable funds provided by Department of Defense (DOD) and Department of the Navy (DON) for specific programs and services.
  • You will serves as the official representative or spokesperson for the organization and/or DON pertaining to the Navy’s responsiveness to its personnel and their families following a crisis or during periods of stress.
  • You will manage the region administration, research and development of standards and policies in support of Human Services across the region.
  • You will monitors, reviews training needs, addresses potential disciplinary and/or performance issues and participates in section staffing decisions.
  • You will oversee the appropriate implementation of Navy policies and FAP related policies, procedures, and programs.
