Job Description

Summary

This job involves overseeing aircraft maintenance production in the Air National Guard, acting as an advisor to the maintenance commander on scheduling, resource allocation, and tracking repairs.

It requires supervising teams to ensure efficient operations, managing costs for labor and materials, and using computer systems to monitor progress.

A good fit would be someone with military or technical experience in aviation maintenance who is organized, good at numbers, and skilled in leading others.

Key Requirements

  • At least 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-10 level in production control, including cost computations for labor, materials, man-hours, and machine time
  • Familiarity with automation support programs for inputting data, monitoring equipment status, and tracking job orders
  • Military enlisted grade (compatible with position requirements)
  • Strong quantitative reasoning skills for analyzing repair operations and production processes
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for clear reporting and consulting with leadership

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (AIRCRAFT), Position Description Number D2504000 and is part of the 109TH AW, National Guard.

This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants.

Military Grades: Enlisted GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which indicates the candidate can reason in quantitative terms, communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, understanding the terminology and data pertaining to repair operations and process characteristics of the production activity.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level experience, education or training in computations of cost data on labor and materials, buying materials or reviewing data with respect to man-hours, machine time, materials consumed, etc.

Experience with current automation support programs to input data, provide status of equipment, and monitor job order status, monitor work priorities, requisition repair parts, track repair parts status, etc.

Major Duties:

  • As a SUPERVISORY PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (AIRCRAFT), GS-1152-11, you will serve as a consultant to the Maintenance Group Commander / Director of Maintenance.
