Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY POLICE OFFICER in the Security Department of NAVAIR WPNSTA CHINA LAKE SECDT.

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing law enforcement duties that deal with apprehension and detention of individuals in cases ranging from minor incidents to felonies; 2) Performing inspections and investigative work to effect compliance of individuals with laws, rules, and regulations in the protection of life, property, and the civil rights of citizens; 3) Preparing detailed reports and citations concerning all incidents and actions taken; 4) Providing advice, guidance and instruction to police officers and conducting roll call/guard mount.

(NOTE: Your answer must be supported by information in your resume.) Completion of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Uniformed Police Training Program is a condition of continued employment.

Employee will be required to sign a continuing service agreement prior to travel to the academy.

Agreement to Continue in Service - CSA, Agency requires 36 months of continued employment after the completion of required training from the FLETC in accordance with Title 5 USC 4108 and 5 CFR410.309.

Failure to voluntary complete length of employment requirement can subject employee to reimburse to the agency for fees, such as tuition and related fees, travel, and other special expenses (excluding salary) paid in connection with the training.

  • You will supervise personnel consisting of both Civilian/Military Police and Guard Personnel.
  • You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set short term priorities and evaluate what is accomplished.
  • You will identify development and training needs of employees.
  • You will initiate, establish and plan mission priorities based on guidance.
