Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team in a military health operations center, coordinating responses to emergencies, exercises, and security events to support defense health missions.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:1) Assisting in coordinating, tracking, or reporting of requests for information; 2) Managing a fast-paced Operations team; 3) Developing metrics to present data and/or information to leadership for review/action; 4) Disseminating information to ensure operational compliance; and 5) Coordinating situation reports (SITREPs) and critical information requirements (CRIs), such as tracking information through the Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS/ETMS2) or similar monitoring systems.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).

Major Duties:

  • Serve as the Branch Supervisor, Current Operations under the Chief, Operations Division.
  • Activates and coordinate the DHA Joint Operations Center capabilities in support of National Special Security Events, Combatant Command exercises, and real-world all-hazards incidents in support of the Combatant Commands and Military Health System.
  • Participate in crisis action planning in response to DHA involvement in contingency situations within the Networks.
  • Participate in current and long-range planning meetings to ensure that Agency’s goals and objectives are fully and effectively related.
  • Supervise government civilians and military personnel in their functional areas responsible for preparing, coordinating, synchronizing, maintaining Operations Orders, Task Orders, Fragmentary Orders, Network actions, and staffing requests.
