This position is located within the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), Office of Secure Transportation (OST), Office of Mission Operations (OMO), Agent Operations Western Command (AOWC) in Albuquerque, NM.
A successful candidate in this position will lead a team of highly specialized protective forces, responsible for the safe and secure transportation of classified and/or hazardous nuclear materials.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in responsibility and scope to the NV-03 pay band or GS-12 level.
Qualifying specialized experience for this position includes: Experience functioning as a Convoy Commander (Lead Courier) or Recovery Team Leader.
Example of Specialized Experience: Leading a team of Courier personnel in the safe and secure transportation of hazardous nuclear weapons, nuclear weapon components, and/or special nuclear material.
Developing and executing operational, security, and tactical plans for assigned convoys. Identifying and obtaining resources needed to accomplish mission operations.
Directing and coordinating the work of agents while on mission operations. Demonstrated skill in security planning. Conducting or overseeing threat assessments of potential hostilities. Major Duties:
As a Supervisory Nuclear Materials Courier, you will: Serve as a Squad Commander, with a full range of supervisory responsibilities for Nuclear Materials Couriers and support staff.
Perform the full range of supervisory duties, such as assigning and evaluating work performance, establishing training objectives, directing training activities of subordinates, recognizing, and disciplining staff, and resolving employee grievances.
Provide both administrative and technical direction to a highly specialized protective force that is responsible for the safe and secure transportation of classified and/or hazardous materials.
Direct the response of resources in an emergency.
