Base salary range: $74,441 - $96,770

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves leading a team of engineers who handle the design, repair, and maintenance of fluid systems and mechanical parts in nuclear reactors at a naval shipyard.
You'll supervise daily operations, ensure safety and quality standards are met, and guide your team in solving tough technical problems.

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY NUCLEAR ENGINEER in the FLUID SYSTEMS and MECHANICAL ENGINEERING DIVISION, NUCLEAR ENGINEERING and PLANNING DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: * Experience engineering the aspects of work pertaining to construction, overhaul, repair and modification of valves associated with a nuclear reactor plant.
* Experience providing engineering direction for the reactor plant including correction of deficiencies.
* Experience leading a team in resolution of complex problems discovered during work on the reactor plant or associated system.
* Experience coaching and mentoring engineers in work planning, execution, and problem solving associated with the nuclear reactor plant.
