Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S.
Border Patrol, Rio Grande Valley Sector, Mission Readiness Operations, located in Edinburg, TX.
Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Applying a wide range of policy and compliance concepts, laws, policies, practices, and analytical diagnostic methods and techniques to address substantive technical issues and problems characterized by complex, controversial, and sensitive matters that contain several interrelated issues.
Generating and maintaining various reports and providing updated information to management officials.
Providing support with the performance appraisal and awards programs on employee eligibility for various awards.

This position starts at a salary of $106,437.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $138,370.00 (GS-13, Step 10).
As a Supervisory Mission Support Specialist, you will become a key team member of Homeland Security Individuals involved in supervising a team that plans and carries out a wide variety of mission support, workforce management, administrative research, and program planning activities related to the missions and functions of the division.
Typical duties and responsibilities include: Supervising the Policy and Compliance Branch and providing senior level advice regarding policy and compliance programs and operations.
Developing new and modified policy and compliance methods, approaches, and procedures for delivering effective services to customers.
Developing and delivering briefings, project papers, status and staff reports, and correspondence to managers to foster understanding and acceptance of findings and recommendations.
Generating and maintaining various reports, providing updated information for CBP's internal Table of Organization (TO) tracker, and monitoring tickler reports and staffing tables.
