Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team in the logistics branch of a naval intelligence division, where you'll manage daily operations like inventory, shipping, and hardware handling for foreign materials, while supervising staff and improving processes.

It's a supervisory role focused on ensuring compliance with security and safety rules in a technical analysis center.

A good fit would be someone with experience in logistics management, team leadership, and handling sensitive government resources, especially in defense or intelligence settings.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience in managing logistics for Foreign Materiel Exploitation (FME), including inventory, transportation, shipping, hardware destruction, property management, and government purchase card usage
  • Ability to develop and implement procedures for organizational logistics, security, and inventory policies
  • Experience managing risks associated with transportation, storage, and destruction of hardware
  • Skill in preparing and presenting observations and recommendations to senior leadership for logistics process improvements
  • Proficiency in analyzing internal processes, addressing complex logistics requirements, and recommending improvements in line with governing guidelines
  • Ability to lead and supervise personnel, conduct performance evaluations under DCIPS guidelines, and ensure compliance with DoD, DoN, FMP, and IC policies
  • Knowledge of ensuring personnel complete required safety training and adhere to FME program standards

Full Job Description

You will serve as the Logistics Branch Head of the Foreign Materiel Exploitation Division, responsible for managing day-to-day operations, supervising personnel, and assisting the Division Head in execution of the mission.

Your duties will include: assigning work; overseeing logistics operations; leveraging internal/external resources; and engaging supervisors across and external to the organization.

This position is located at FARRAGUT TECHNICAL ANALYSIS CENTER in Suitland, Maryland. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Manage and oversee resources and processes for Foreign Materiel Exploitation (FME) logistics to include inventory management, transportation, shipping, hardware destruction, property management, government purchase card, and off-site operation preparation; Develop and implement procedures necessary for adhering to organizational logistics, security, and inventory policies and instructions; Manage risks related to transportation, storage, and destruction of hardware; Prepare and present observations to senior leadership to recommend improvements in current logistics processes.

  • You will analyze existing internal processes and procedures in accordance with existing governing guidelines.
  • You will address complex logistics requirements and make recommendations for process improvement.
  • You will develop, update, and monitor logistics functions within the Foreign Materiel Exploitation (FME) Program.
  • You will ensure Foreign Materiel Exploitation (FME) personnel complete required safety training and comply with all aspects of the FME Program.
  • You will manage and lead personnel, and conduct routine performance evaluations, in accordance with Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) guidelines.
  • You will ensure subordinates’ work complies with applicable Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Navy (DoN), Foreign Material Program (FMP), and Intelligence Community (IC) policy guidelines and standards.
