Full Job Description

You will serve as a in the SUPERVISORY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN) in the Navy Marine Corps Intranet/Next Generation Enterprise Networks (NMCI/NGEN) Branch (10933), Information Technology (IT) Business Division (1093), Information Technology & Cyber Security (ITACS) Office (109) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience leading and managing a diverse team of civilian and contractor personnel by overseeing day-to-day operations, setting priorities, and ensuring timely, high-quality completion of tasks, providing guidance and training, and handling personnel actions such as promotions and resolving employee complaints.

Experience developing and managing IT program policies and strategies, ensuring compliance with organizational goals and government standards.

Experience managing an Information Technology (IT) core enterprise network contract (e.g., Navy Marine Corps Intranet/Next Generation Enterprise Network (NMCI/NGEN)) by providing oversight of IT support services, troubleshooting network issues, and ensuring the configuration and installation of new equipment in compliance with IT security standards.

Experience developing IT policies, reviewing workload requirements, justifying budget proposals, assessing IT effectiveness, preparing and validating IT security documentation, coordinating actions to implement IT initiatives, and preparing briefings on IT issues for senior management.

  • You will perform planning, execution, and supervision of the Branch in the provision of optimum procurement services to requestors within resource allocations and budget limitations.
  • You will oversee the management of the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI)/Next Generation Enterprise Network (NGEN) contract, including providing government oversight for the waterfront support team and premier support, as applicable.
  • You will oversee and manage a variety of tasks involved with the assessment of IT equipment/material intended for use in response to computer requirements for the shipyard, ships, barges, trailers, Temporary Field Offices (TFO), etc.
  • You will review and monitor current and future workload requirements as provided to support shipyard production and maintenance schedules.
  • You will determine program goals for the Branch, review progress and results, recommend program changes, and apply sound business practices to achieve timely, economical and successful completion of projects.
