Full Job Description

This position is located in the DEA, Headquarters Information Technology Division (TC), Arlington VA.

This position(s) primary purpose is to serve as the Unit Chief of the Infrastructure Management Unit and has a major responsibility for coordinating the expansion of DEAs infrastructure to include new office locations and office closures for all of DEA worldwide.

Basic Qualification Requirements: For all IT positions, individuals must have IT-related proficiency level for all four of the competencies listed below: 1.

Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientiously attends to detail. 2.

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individual who uses or receives the services or products that your work or unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; and is committed to providing quality products and services.

Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues; and responds appropriately.

4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

In addition to the above basic requirement, applicants applying for the GS-14 must also meet the following requirements: A.

Have at least one full year of specialized experience that is at least equivalent to work performed at the GS-13 grade level.

Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Presenting detailed and comprehensives reports with action plans to leadership; 2) delivering advice, guidance, and direction on a wide range of planning & integration and administrative issues; 3) analyzing technical guidance in all matters regarding IT Moves, Adds, Changes, and Deletes (MACD) requirements and processes while advising in MACD support for both Firebird and Merlin; 4) interpreting policies, determining program needs, independently planning design, and carry out work as a technical authority in data management and applications software development; 5) advising in support structures, operating systems software, specialty software, hardware, communications, and systems inter-relationship.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Major Duties:

As a your typical work assignments may include: - Analyzing computer diagnostic techniques, computer performance measurement tools, and computer security policies and procedures.

- Delivers advice, guidance, and direction on a wide range of planning & integration and administrative issues.

- Collaborates with vendors and end users daily to ensure that contract requirements are met.

- Identifies and initiates requests for additional resources including personnel, overtime, equipment, supplies, and space to ensure success in meeting goals and objectives.
