This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted position for a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number PDD2467P01 , and is part of the SC DOIM, South Carolina Army National Guard.
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO THE FOLLOWING AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC): Area of Consideration: This position is open to Area 1 Only.
Area 1: Current employees of the South Carolina Army National Guard (Tenure 1 and 2) Area 2: Current members of the South Carolina Army National Guard Area 3: Any individual eligible for membership in the South Carolina Army National Guard *Temporary and Indefinite employees do not meet permanent tenure requirements and are not eligible for Area 1.
For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Experience, education or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process.
Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must have 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES: 1.
Must obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance level. 2.
Incumbent must complete appropriate training and obtain required certifications IAW DoDI 8140, DOD 8570.01M or applicable governing document(s) for Cyber workforce as an IA Manager Level 3. 3.
Position is designated as OM-ADM-001 within the Defense Cybersecurity Workforce as guided by NIST SP 800-181; National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education, Cybersecurity Workforce Framework.

All certifications are required within 6 months of employment. Major Duties:
This position is located in a Joint Force Headquarters - State (JFHQ-ST), in the Chief Information Officer Directorate.
The primary purpose of this position is to manage the personnel in the mission command division of the CIO/G6/J6 and oversee the operational status of the systems covered by the sections.
The incumbent of this position serves as the Supervisory IT Specialist of the Mission Command (MC) Division in the CIO/J6/G6 of a National Guard State Headquarters.
Supervises and mentors the MC personnel, ensuring that instruction meet standards. Performs supervisory duties of assigned personnel.
Acts as the primary advisor to the state J6/CIO on all matters pertaining to MC and communication system readiness.
Supervises base operation MC support services (COMSEC, Spectrum Mgt, Radio, other MC systems, etc.) as well as emergency communication support actions (DOMOPS), and overall support for MC systems for MTOE and TDA elements.
Servers as career manager for Signal/Cyber personnel. Additionally, establishes priorities of effort in support unit communication and MC support.
Reports status on mission command systems and provides recommendations for support through parent Program Executive Offices/Program Management channels (PM WIN-T, CECOM, etc.).
Work in this series includes managing, supervising, leading, administering, developing, delivering, and supporting information technology (IT) systems and services.
This series covers only those positions for which the paramount requirement is knowledge of IT principles, concepts, and methods, e.g., data storage, software applications, networking.
