Full Job Description

The position is in the Office of Inspector General (OIG), Office of Management and Policy (OMAP), Division of Information Technology.

The incumbent serves as Division Director, providing nationwide leadership and oversight of all OIG information technology, telecommunications, and video conferencing services, including the development of IT policies and procedures.

You must meet the Basic Requirements listed in the Education Requirements section and the Specialized Experience to qualify for Supervisory IT Specialist, as described below.

For the GS-15: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level GS-14 in the Federal Service.

Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled.

To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.

Qualifying specialized experience for Supervisory IT Specialist, GS-2210-15 includes: Supervised an IT team of 3 or more employees for 3 or more years.

Technical experience in two or more areas of federal information technology. Directing an organization while actively working alongside a team.

Additional Information: No Relocation Incentives will be offered. No Permanent Change of Station Incentives will be offered. This position is outside the Bargaining Unit.

This position will not be filled until the Department's Placement Assistance Programs have been fully utilized. Major Duties:

The Major Duties Include: Directs the development of OIG policies and plans for the introduction, distribution, use and evaluation of information technology, telecommunications, and video conferencing such as hardware; software; integrated information systems; communication links and the effective, efficient and economical automation and delivery of OIG programs and services.

Ensures IT support and application services to OIG nationwide. Directs the development of policies and procedures governing security at information technology sites.

Advises the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) and Deputy Assistant Inspector General (DAIG) for Management and Policy on trends and anticipated IT needs for the OIG.

Assures that appropriate staff works with the IT Architecture Committee, IT Capital Investment Committee, IT Security Infrastructure Committee, Departmental Technical Review Board, and Departmental IRM managers in the coordination of important Departmental IT issues.

Provides technical guidance to establish the requirements and assures that the technical scope and terms of IT-related contracts are met.

Provides technical guidance on IT infrastructure consolidation and modernization.

Responsible for the technical and administrative supervision of a large and complex staff in professional, technical, clerical, and administrative work to carry out the mission of the organization.

This also requires managing work through subordinate supervisor(s) or lead(s). Directly supervises professional, technical, clerical, and/or administrative work.

Also determines whether the contractor performed work meets standards of adequacy.
