This Supervisory Cybersecurity IT Specialist (INFOSEC) position is responsible for Threat Intelligence and Technical Services in the Cybersecurity Operations Center (CSOC) in the immediate Office of Information Security (OIS), Office of Information Technology (OIT), Department of Veteran Affairs.

You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below Basic Requirements: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate For all positions, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

AND Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-14 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Experience working with system and application security threats and vulnerabilities (e.g., buffer overflow, mobile code, cross-site scripting, Procedural Language/Structured Query Language [PL/SQL] and injections, race conditions, covert channel, replay, return-oriented attacks, malicious code).
Experience in industry technologies and identifying potential cybersecurity vulnerabilities.
Experience developing policy, plans, and strategy in compliance with laws, regulations, policies and standards in support of organizational cyber activities; handling technology, management, and leadership issues related to organization processes and problem solving.
