Summary

This job involves leading a team of analysts in producing intelligence and investigative reports to support law enforcement and national security decisions at U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Full Job Description

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S.

Customs and Border Protection, Office of Professional Responsibility, Threat Mitigation and Analysis Division with duty in one of the following locations: Locations: 1 vacancy in one of the following locations Washington, DC Detroit, MI Miami, FL New York, NY This announcement will be open for 5 business days OR until the first 50 applications have been received, whichever happens first.

Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Leading, overseeing, or managing an analytic portfolio that produces intelligence or investigative analysis for a customer/decision-maker (investigator, intelligence operator, senior leader, prosecutor, warfighter, etc.).

Possessing capable conflict resolution skills, accomplished at seeking outcomes that are satisfactory to multiple competing priorities, and able to adapt existing work based on feedback.

Developing peer relationships with external stakeholders, such as other law enforcement, intelligence, and national security agencies.

Demonstrating experience adhering to organizational policy for formal written reports, produces presentations for senior leadership or customer-based audiences, and mentors lesser experienced personnel on the same.

Background Investigation: U.S.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is a federal law enforcement agency that requires all applicants to undergo a thorough background investigation prior to employment in order to promote the agency's core values of vigilance, service to country, and integrity.

As a Branch Chief, you will supervise and lead a branch of investigative analysts who conduct research and analysis on the conduct of personnel and their associates in order to make determinations as to their relationship to criminal or serious misconduct, administrative violations, and corrupt activities.

This position starts at a salary of $125,776.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $163,514.00 (GS-14, Step 10) Salary: Salary listed reflects the rest of U.S.

scale and, if applicable, will be adjusted to meet the locality pay or cost of living expenses of the duty location upon selection.

The Major Duties for this position are list below but not limited to: Conducting extensive evaluations of program goals and objective and directs adjustments to assure each complies with rapidly changing and expanding agency mission.

Developing and managing program policies in response to levels of appropriations or other legislated changes and implementing policies and program changes both internal and external to CBP.

Overseeing and monitoring agency-wide inspections, investigations, compliance reviews and evaluations of programs on security and integrity and ensuring it is within national policies, procedures and laws.

Providing team members with direction, technical guidance and instruction to successfully complete audit, compliance and inspection objectives timely, efficiently and effectively.

Evaluating performance of those supervised directly, including subordinate supervisors and serving as the reviewing official of performance evaluation completed by subordinate supervisors.

Setting priorities and schedules for completion, and assigns work to direct reports.
