Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team of engineers in the Navy's hypersonic weapons program, focusing on designing, integrating, and maintaining launcher systems for missiles on ships, submarines, and land platforms.

You'll oversee budgets, manage contracts, and provide expert advice on complex technical challenges to ensure projects stay on track.

In addition to the basic education requirement, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or NH-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer with system engineering in a program office setting; budgeting or task planning to include the oversight of tasking and finances; leading teams as a functional leader or manager; and managing a contract, reviewing and implementing contract language.

  • You will serve as the Launcher Section Head for the Platform Systems Branch for the Hypersonic Weapon System program office.
  • You will be responsible for supervising, managing, and/or performing professional engineering and scientific work concerning the integration of launcher systems within surface, submerged, and land-based platforms.
  • You will focus on development, delivery, and sustainment of the Conventional Prompt Strike Advanced Payload Module, canister, and associated support equipment to include pier-side handling equipment.
  • You will serve as a senior adviser, providing authoritative scientific, technical, and professional guidance and acquisition advice to senior level managers and engineers concerning unusual or critical problems.
  • You will manage team activities, progress, and scheduling to ensure successful project performance while supporting overall budget plans for many varied/diverse features of assigned program areas.
  • You will identify the costs/risks associated with operations of extremely complicated equipment, software, and unique components.
