Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER in the Dry Dock Engineering Branch of the Waterfront Programs Division of Code 900F Production Engineering and Facilities of PSNS and IMF.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer providing technical guidance and support of engineered systems and equipment.

  • You will be responsible for providing technical evaluations and recommendations in support of short and long range development and continuing improvements to shipyard utilities, facilities and equipment.
  • You will be responsible for providing engineering, design, consultation and coordination for the areas under his/her cognizance.
  • You will provide administrative and technical supervision including planning and assigning work, setting priorities, filling vacancies, resolving complaints/grievances, providing performance evaluations, and developing training plans.
  • You will identify the need for new, additional, or improvements to existing shipyard utilities, facilities and equipment.
  • You will collect/assemble/analyze and present information establishing the need for new or improved utilities, facilities and equipment, validate cost and savings, determine proper funding source, integrate priorities and provide status on projects.
  • You will provide engineering support and guidance in the resolution of installation, operational, and maintenance problems with equipment and industrial facilities throughout the shipyard and other naval installations.
