Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team of engineers in manufacturing and quality assurance for naval aircraft systems, providing expert advice on system design and production to support major defense programs.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER for the Manufacturing & Quality Engineering (M&QE) Division within the Systems Engineering Department of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV .This role includes both direct M&QE support to various PMAs and Supervisory duties.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band (NM-03) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1.

Demonstrated experience serving as a Lead Systems Engineer or as a Lead Technical Domain Subject Matter Expert for assigned systems providing authoritative systems engineering or senior-level engineering technical domain input and advice to systems engineering and to the program management leadership.

2) experience leading the development and incorporation of Systems Engineering work products or technical domain work products required to satisfy, complement and inform the DoW System Acquisition program management process milestones, artifacts, strategic planning, risk characterization and decision making on major weapon systems.

3.) Leading or significantly master the incorporation and use of the various and broad NAWCAD resources to support engineering development, planning and testing for assigned systems.

4.) Leading engineering, technical, acquisition, and sustainment support personnel and teams.

  • You will monitor, review, and evaluate strategic factors, both internal and external to the organization, which influence work performed and support provided, as well as the resources for the division to meet current strategic requirements.
  • You will provide inputs for the development and implementation of executable national-level long-term integrated strategic business and technology plans, policies, guidance, and metrics for the Manufacturing and Quality Engineering (M/QE) Division.
  • You will direct, integrate and coordinate the efforts of a variety of journeyman-level engineers and senior technical experts within your M and QE Branch.
  • You will assess future manpower and skills requirements and recommends training plans to provide the necessary capabilities.
  • You will represent the M and QE Division, Systems Engineering, and NAVAIR at conferences, meetings, and/or other formal gatherings on matters related to the Manufacturing and Quality Engineering Division.
  • You will establish M and QE requirements for various PMAs and manage the Contractor’s execution of those requirements through all phases of the acquisition lifecycle.
  • You will evaluate design producibility, manufacturing planning, and proposed or actual production/quality processes and provide comprehensive recommendations to Program Management, weighing best practices, affordability, and program risk tolerance.
  • You will plan, execute, and/or serve as a Technical Review Board member for various Systems Engineering Technical Reviews.
  • You will carry out EEO policies and communicates support to subordinates.
