To be considered qualified for this position you must meet all of the following qualification requirements.
You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Managing responses to media inquiries and coordinating statements, crisis communications, or rapid response for media engagement on law enforcement or national security-related topics; Supervising staff responsible for media relations activities, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing guidance to support effective team operations in high-profile public affairs settings; Working knowledge of U.S.
immigration and/or national security policies, laws, and enforcement practices sufficient to communicate complex or sensitive topics accurately in response to media inquiries; AND Building and maintaining relationships with reporters and media stakeholders, including supporting media pitching, facilitating story placement, and assisting in the mitigation of unfavorable press coverage.

Major Duties:
As Supervisory Public Affairs Specialist, GS-14 you will perform the following duties: Responsible for overseeing the development of external and internal communication Strategies.
Responsible for the implementation of external and internal communication strategies. Advises senior agency officials on Public Affairs policy, programs, and operations.
Responds to national and local media on significant agency issues and operations. Supervises assigned public affairs officers, writers, and support staff.
