Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading and overseeing polygraph examinations for intelligence and security purposes in the U.S.

Army, including training examiners and handling complex cases related to counterintelligence and personnel security.

A good fit would be someone with deep experience in polygraph operations, a strong background in intelligence analysis, and the ability to manage high-stakes investigations in a military or government setting.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience in polygraph examinations, including training examiners and reviewing investigative files
  • Expertise in conducting sensitive, high-level polygraph exams for personnel security, HUMINT, counterintelligence, and counterespionage
  • Knowledge of federal polygraph policies, techniques, and equipment updates to inform and guide examiners
  • Progressive experience in intelligence research, analysis, collection, or operations, including counterintelligence
  • Possession of a certificate from Defense Academy for Credibility Assessment (DACA), Department of Defense Polygraph Institute (DoDPI), or National Center for Credibility Assessment (NCCA)
  • Competency in counterintelligence operations, investigations, and force management

About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S.

Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army Intelligence &Security CMD U.S.

Army Counterintelligence Command Technical Support Battalion located across different locations.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

Specialized experience is defined as: Ability providing subject matter expertise training examiners on investigative and operational examinations by reviewing investigative files, operational concepts, and proposals to help them determine the appropriate integration and application of polygraph techniques.; AND Ability providing subject matter expertise conducting sensitive, high level, and complex polygraph examinations in support of personnel security, HUMINT, CI, and counterespionage matters of the intelligence community interests: AND Experience providing subject matter expertise informing examiners of latest guidance on federal polygraph operations and policy change, technique applicability, and equipment changes.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-13).

Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations.

This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled.

This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.

SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: This position requires possession of either a Defense Academy for Credibility Assessment (DACA), Department of Defense Polygraph Institute (DoDPI) or a National Center for Credibility Assessment (NCCA) certificate.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Counterintelligence (CI) Operations Counterintelligence (CI) Investigations Force Management Major Duties:

  • Plans, coordinates, and executes the most complex, high priority, polygraph examinations in support of the Army Intelligence Polygraph Program (AIPP).
  • Provides mentoring and guidance to team members through expert demonstration of skills and abilities related to polygraph and mastery of the various examinations' techniques and methodologies.
  • Performs staff action officer functions as directed by Detachment Chief or QC associated with the evaluation and purchase of new equipment, resourcing issues, mission planning, mission validation and mission management.
