Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (RECRUITMENT/EMPLOYEE RELATIONS) in the HUMAN RESOURCES TEAM (SYSCOM) of HQ US MARINE CORPS.

The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze.

Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing comprehensive management advisory services on Recruitment and Staffing, Labor and Employee Relations and Classification concepts, laws, policies and practices AND utilize human resources data system(s) and applications to enter and analyze personnel data, produce reports, ensure data integrity, and improve work efficiency and effectiveness.

  • You will serve as an advisor to Manager, Staffing and Classification and Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC).
  • You will work closely with Human Resources Organizational Management Branch (HROM) principal advisors in the areas of recruitment/classification and employee relations to provide management advice and service.
  • You will develop, implement, and coordinate employee relations programs for MCSC to meet immediate and long-range needs.
  • You will provide supervisors and managers with interpretations of Marine Corps policies regarding recruitment, position classification, position management and employee relations programs.
  • You will provide administrative and technical supervision, instruction, and counseling necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit.
