Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST in the BOARD FOR CORRECTION OF NAVAL RECORDS, DEPARTMENT OF NAVY of SECNAV BCNR.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience providing policy guidance and advice to staff and leadership amid discussions, significant problems, or specific irregularities.

Experience overseeing the use of an automated case tracking system, providing briefings, and reviewing and writing reports of sensitive and controversial issues with congressional interest.

Experience conducting case analysis and providing quality assurance of all cases following applicable laws, military personnel regulations, instructions, and established procedures for the proper and equitable resolution of cases.

  • You will analyze and advise on the most difficult and controversial cases providing policy guidance and advice to the Director or Deputy Director and examiners in discussions of significant problems or irregularities in specific cases.
  • You will assist in the development of guidance, resources, training, and professional development opportunities for the Board for Correction of Naval Records staff and board members.
  • You will conduct case analysis, provide quality assurance of all cases follows applicable laws, Navy and Marine Corps regulations, and other instructions and established procedures for the proper and/or equitable resolution of all cases.
  • You will suggest appropriate research techniques and approaches to be utilized in issue formulations.
  • You will serve as an expert technical advisor for the Board for Correction of Naval Records, and possess and apply a thorough knowledge of laws and regulations governing military personnel.
