Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-10. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 years graduate study.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves leading a team in a naval shipyard to oversee ship repair operations, with a strong focus on managing radioactive materials and ensuring safety in nuclear-related work.
You'll supervise various tradespeople, plan radiological support activities, and provide guidance on production and maintenance processes.
It's a good fit for someone with hands-on experience in shipbuilding or industrial supervision, especially in high-stakes environments like nuclear facilities, who enjoys leading diverse teams and prioritizing safety.
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL FORMAN in the NUCLEAR PRODUCTION MANAGER, OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in trade processes, skills, operations, practices, and equipment used in ship repair.
Experience supervising and managing Radioactive Material Control Office (RAMCO). Experience planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the radiological support facility.
Experience supervising and organizing work performed by various trades including pipefitters, insulators, primary/secondary valve mechanics and others in highly diverse and complex trade operations.
Experience supervising a Radioactive Material Management Program and a mixed waste program.
