Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER in the METEROLOGY DIVISION in the RESEARCH AND INTELLIGENCE DEPARTMENT of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Expertise across a wide range of measurement areas, including both electrical and mechanical systems. 2.

Extensive experience in measurement uncertainty analysis, including generating uncertainty budgets and calculating PFA/PFR. 3.

Experience with calibration and metrology programs is essential, particularly in providing both interim and permanent guidance to support shops in establishing and maintaining calibration capabilities.

4. Strong workload management skills, with the ability to coordinate and balance tasks effectively based on priority and risk management considerations. 5.

Training and mentoring peers or subordinate in the calibration and metrology field..

  • You will serve as the laborotory subject matter expert for the assigned measurement discipline and provide technical oversight of assigned measurement areas.
  • You will ensure measurement processes within assigned measurement areas.
  • You will review report and certificate generated by junior engineers and technicians working in their assigned measurement areas.
  • You will identify and propose plans and execute projects required to close current and future Navy measurement requirements.
  • You will mentor junior engineers and technicians in meteorology and engineering efforts, providing oversight, support, and guidance as needed.
