This job involves leading a team of firefighters in Bahrain, overseeing fire suppression, rescue operations, and emergency responses on naval installations, including handling aircraft and shipboard fires.
It requires managing equipment maintenance, ensuring team certifications, and coordinating quick responses to hazards like spills or injuries.
A good fit would be an experienced firefighter with supervisory skills, ready for an overseas tour in a high-stakes environment.
You will serve as a Supervisory Fire Fighter in the Fire Suppression Division of NAVSUPPACT BAHRAIN.
The selectee for this position serves for an 18-month unaccompanied tour or 24-month accompanied tour in Manama, Bahrain. The current workweek is Sunday through Thursday.
Employees hired from continental U.S. will receive Sunday Premium Pay (computed at 25% of basic hourly rate, eight hours per week).
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Directing the operation of one or more firefighting vehicles and associated equipment of significant complexity to perform firefighting and rescue operations; 2) Applying firefighting techniques to manage fire hazards peculiar to airfields (e.g.
aircraft, special weapons, hazardous materials); 3) Employing hazardous materials emergency response procedures, equipment, identification and decontamination procedures; 4) Controlling and extinguishing fires and conducting rescue operations in a maritime (i.e.
shipboard) environment. NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position..
At time of appointment, employee is required to be certified by the DoD Firefighter Certification System as Fire Officer I. I & III. Fire Instructor 1, Fire Inspector 1 & II.
Airport Firefighter HAZMAT Incident Commander and possess valid, current license as an Emergency Medical Technician listed in a State or the National Registry (NREMT) to at least Basic Life Support level (EMT-B) Position requires that the selectee have visual acuity and accurate color discrimination.
