Full Job Description

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S.

Customs and Border Protection, Office of Finance Financial Operations Directorate.Located on Indianapolis , Indiana.

Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Providing technical assistance and advice to management and stakeholders.

Providing direction and leading a team of Financial Program Specialists in sometimes complex situations. Ensuring organizational goals are met.

Ensuring statements and reports contain timely, accurate financial information in accordance with applicable regulations, directives and guidance through efficient and effective administration of financial systems.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is a federal law enforcement agency that requires all applicants to undergo a thorough background investigation prior to employment in order to promote the agency's core values of vigilance, service to country, and integrity.

To be considered well qualified under CTAP, you must be rated at a minimum score of 85 for this position. Major Duties:

The incumbent will provide technical and administrative guidance and supervision to the section on work process changes and overall priorities, objectives and approach.

Align section work requirements and efforts with CBP strategic plan and mission priorities.

This position starts at a salary of $126,947.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $165,037.00 (GS-14, Step 10) In this position, you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals.

Typical work assignments include: Planning, managing and ensuring the effective administration of personnel resources, ensuring work performance is consistent with applicable management goals and direction, financial policy, program requirements, and performance standards.

Formulating work plans and strategies and develop and implement internal operating procedures for polices affecting the division.

Managing assigned systems and programs for control and reporting for revenue or other financial areas, ensuring systems produce complete records of all financial transactions and comply with relevant law, regulation.
