Base salary range: $74,441 - $96,770
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-11. Advanced degree + significant experience.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves leading a team in the payroll section of a naval shipyard's accounting department, where you'll oversee pay processes, ensure everything follows rules, and improve how work gets done.
It's a supervisory role focused on managing staff, solving pay issues, and updating policies for accurate employee compensation.
A good fit would be someone with experience in financial oversight, strong leadership abilities, and a knack for analyzing and fixing systems in a government or large organization setting.
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST in the Comptroller Department (C600), Accounting Division (C610), Payroll (C614) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience planning work, setting priorities and scheduling work.
Experience providing technical and administrative oversight, advice, and instruction on issues relating to the pay system.
Experience analyzing all facets of the pay system to ensure compliance with laws and regulations. Experience resolving time discrepancies and employee complaints.
Experience demonstrating leadership skills and ability to develop employees.
