Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team of technicians in maintaining and repairing electronic systems for airfields and air traffic control, ensuring everything runs smoothly and safely.

You'll supervise daily operations, provide training, and make sure all work follows strict guidelines.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-10 level or equivalent, including reviewing technical airfield electronics work for compliance

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the AIR OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT, GROUND ELECTRONICS MAINTENANCE DIVISION of NAVSTA.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Reviewing technical airfield electronic work for compliance with regulations; 2) Troubleshooting and repairing airfield electronic equipment, air traffic control UHF/VHF communications systems, and FM mobile and handheld communications systems to solve complex technical problems or improve system performance; 3) Evaluating equipment design to improve or enhance circuit and system operation; and 4) Using applicable test equipment, test methods and practices as related to Air Traffic Control Communications Systems.

QUALIFICATION REQUIRMENTS: A minimum of five years in administration, management and electronic maintenance supervision of a large communication radio facility, an airport communication/navigation aids facility, or a ship or aircraft squadron electronics or avionics division.

  • You will organize, administer and supervise the branch or area for which he is responsible to include a comprehensive preventative/corrective maintenance program within the guidelines set forth by higher authority.
  • You will ensure that work is done in accordance with specifications, instructions, and good practice.
  • You will give advice, counsel, and/or instruction to individual employees on both work and administrative matters, to include annual appraisals.
