Supervisory/Managerial Probationary Period: You may be required to serve a twelve-month probationary period upon appointment to this position.
You may also be required to complete an appropriate supervisory training course within one year of assignment to this position. Physical Demands: Applicants must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Motor Vehicle Operation: This position requires operation of a motor vehicle. You must possess a current valid driver's license.
Residency Requirement: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
This residency requirement states that candidates must have, for three of the last five years immediately prior to applying for this position; (1) resided in the United States; OR (2) worked for the United States Government as an employee overseas in a Federal or Military capacity, OR (3) been a dependent of a U.S.
Federal or Military employee serving overseas. Mobility Agreement: This position is subject to reassignment to any USCIS facility, depending on the needs of the agency.

As a Supervisory Criminal Investigator (Special Agent in Charge), you will have regional oversight relating to the prevention and investigation of fraud within the United States lawful immigration process.

GS-15: You qualify at the GS-15 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position.
You must have experience performing the following duties: Evaluating the effectiveness of current investigative policies to implement procedural changes in an organization; Formulating long term operational plans that ensure all investigative techniques are conducted in compliance with policy and legal requirements; Developing policies and procedures designed to identify and mitigate public safety or national security vulnerabilities; and, Partnering with other federal, state or local law enforcement agencies on criminal investigative trends to advance policies that combat immigration fraud or national security concerns.
