Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-12 level or equivalent in federal, private, or public sector, focusing on analyzing contracting issues, modifying procedures, and solving problems
  • Meet Department of Defense (DoD) qualification standards for GS-1102 contracting positions
  • Compliance with Title 10 U.S. Code requirements for contracting roles
  • Expertise in life-cycle acquisition management, including planning, strategy, cost/price analysis, negotiation, and administration
  • Ability to review procurement requests, contract terms, technical specifications, settlement proposals, audit reports, technical evaluations, and subcontractor claims
  • Supervisory skills to lead a team in complex contract specializations

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY CONTRACT SPECIALIST in the Marine Forces Reserve/Marine Forces South of MARFORRES NOLA.

The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze.

Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing expertise analyzing difficult contracting issues and identifying alternative courses of action, modifying standard contracting procedures and terms to satisfy specialized requirements, and solving a variety of contracting problems.

  • You will review procurement requests to assure clarity, adequacy and completeness.
  • You will review contract terms and technical specifications to identify and special requirements.
  • You will analyze settlement proposals, audit reports, technical evaluations, and subcontractor claims.
