Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-12 level or equivalent in federal contracting, including pre-award and post-award actions

  • Experience as a Warranted Contracting Officer with federal acquisition policies, procedures, techniques, and evaluation methods
  • Proficiency in negotiation techniques for dealing with private sector representatives and government experts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interactions with vendors and customers
  • Expertise in cost and pricing techniques to ensure timely, efficient, and fiscally responsible procurements
  • Meet Department of Defense GS-1102 qualification standards and Title 10 requirements for contracting positions

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY CONTRACT SPECIALIST within NAVSUP WEAPON SYSTEMS SUPPORT.

#LI-NAVSUPWSS In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying contracting principles, laws, statues, regulations, and procedures applicable to pre-award and post-award actions sufficient to procure contracts for a variety of goods and services; Experience with federal contract methods and contract types which requires specialized knowledge of federal acquisition policy, procedures, techniques, and evaluation methods as a Warranted Contracting Officer; Using negotiation techniques to meet and deal with representatives of private sector and with government experts or managers in order to procure assigned products; Communicating through written communications and discussions with vendors/customers; Using a variety of cost and pricing techniques in order to procure items timely, efficiently and within fiscal restraints.

  • You will be responsible for the management and execution of all contracting actions within the Division.
  • You will direct all procurement activities of the buying division, continuously reviewing, analyzing, and facilitating the completion of contractual documents.
  • You will monitor contractor technical performance over the life of the contract, and solve problems relating to change proposals, claims, payments, and similar problems.
  • You will be accountable for all contracting actions conducted in the Division on behalf of the government, including establishing, monitoring, and changing priorities to satisfy urgent fleet/customer needs or management goals.
