Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team to manage and support cyber systems and networks for the U.S.

Army's cyber operations at Fort Meade, including advising leaders on risks and policies while overseeing daily work.

It's a supervisory role focused on solving complex technical problems in cybersecurity to support national defense missions.

A good fit would be someone with strong computer science expertise, leadership experience in tech teams, and a passion for government cyber defense.

About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f.

Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25.

This position is located at the Fort Meade, Maryland. CYBER EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITIONS ARE NOT SUBJECT TO THE TWO-PAGE RESUME LIMIT.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.

Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled.

Basic Requirement: Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science.

At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.

All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions. (Transcripts must be attached).

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:.

Specialized experience: At least one-year specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position: resolving difficult problems related to the integration, implementation, and sustainment of cyber systems and networks; researching, maintaining, and enforcing policies and procedures and advising leadership related to cyber operations and/or mission execution and; exercising supervisory personnel management responsibilities that encompasses oversight, advisory capabilities and performance.

Major Duties:

  • Advises Division Chief and assumes leadership responsibilities as delegated and directed.
  • Oversees and manages work through subordinate team leads and supervisors.
  • Advises CNMF personnel for interactive on-network operations (ION) in support of USCYBERCOM missions and delivers risk assessment and mitigation on all technical/analytical activities involving CNMF operations.
  • Establishes and enforces standards associated with operator development and certification.
  • Trains and certifies operators and assists in the advancement of operator proficiency on various platforms.
  • Serves as a leading subject matter expert (SME) on all matters related to cyberspace operations tradecraft/tool development and lifecycle management for CNMF on all technical matters.
