Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Planning, developing, and executing communications strategies, campaigns, and outreach events.
Developing and implementing strategic communication plans to advance organizational goals and priorities.
Coordinating and participating in resource management reviews to assess progress or resolve problem areas.
Advising leaders on communication best practices and recommending solutions to address gaps, effectively persuading management to implement recommendations involving high-visibility issues or significant agency resources for events.

In this Supervisory Communications Specialist position, you are managing a dynamic team and driving innovative communication strategies that inform, engage, and inspire thousands across the agency.
This position starts at a salary of $143,913.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $187,093.00 (GS-14, Step 10).
Typical Duties include: Providing communication advice, guidance, and assistance to HRM leadership and subordinate staff in the planning, managing, coordinating, and executing of CBP-wide engagement strategies involving senior leadership.
Developing new processes for various communication methods, and ensuring the implementation of enterprise engagements align with the strategic communication plans set forth by the team.
Developing and implementing a strategic communication plan, advising on key messages, goals, intended outcomes, and application of visual design methods and principles.
Planning, directing, controlling, and evaluating engagement, outreach, and digital communication tasks, identifying communication needs and developing informational material that appropriately and adequately inform agency leadership, employees, and stakeholders of the agency's policies, programs, services, activities, and special events.
