This job involves leading a team of structural engineers to design and oversee construction projects for naval facilities, ensuring everything meets safety and technical standards.
You'll act as an expert advisor on structural issues for the Navy's engineering command, managing designs for military buildings and waterfront structures.

You will serve as a Supervisory Civil Engineer (Structural) in the Planning, Design, and Construction Directorate of Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) MidAtlantic.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Independently performing analysis and preparing structural designs for a wide range of Department of Defense shore and waterfront facility projects; 2) Developing complex structural design and analysis utilizing engineering and drafting software; 3) Providing subject matter expert-level in-depth knowledge of specifications, criteria , policy, industry criteria and standards, and standard practices as related to structural and waterfront engineering; 4) Ensuring that the structural aspects of the project are constructed in accordance with contract plans and specifications; and 5) Reviewing and approving shop drawings, delegated designs, Value Engineering Cost Proposals (VECPs), and providing technical responses to Requests for Information ( RFls).
