Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team of installation managers in the Navy, ensuring consistent processes and training for installing technology on ships and ensuring everything aligns with naval modernization goals.

You'll evaluate how well new systems integrate, advise on deployment plans, and drive improvements to reduce risks and speed up installations.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Responsible for providing supervisory role for Platform and Class installation Managers and manages process/training consistency across the Afloat Installation Workforce.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will be responsible for managing process and training consistency across the afloat installation workforce.
  • You will be evaluating and tracking maturity and platform integration to ensure alignments with Naval Modernization polices.
  • You will advise the advance panning IPT (AP IPT) on fielding plans based on product maturity and integration evaluations.
  • You will compare acquisition milestones to NMP milestones and review requirements for product maturity and provide earliest possible fielding date based on the Deep Dive assessment.
  • You will facilitate NMP training schedule to program managers on naval Modernization policies, milestones, maturity requirements and authorization process timeline to ensure efficient fielding schedules and integration testing completion.
  • You will lead installation risk mitigation actives and advise the installation planning manager when installation risk requires higher level integration.
  • You will lead change through continuous process improvements including implementation of lean six SIGMA (LSS) projects within the installation and design arena.
