Requirements

  1. Receives, assesses, and records information obtained from or received through documents or phone calls from or conversations with probationers, and/or other agencies, departments, and stakeholders.
  2. May be required to monitor a caseload of transfer-out or other non-reporting probationers/defendants. Provides documented progress of the compliance with and completion of the conditions of community supervision; report noncompliance to the appropriate stakeholder(s).
  3. May be required to monitor a caseload of non-reporting pretrial interlock or occupational driver's license defendants, or other non-reporting pretrial defendants.

    Provides regular review of ignition interlock reports, documented progress of the compliance with conditions of bond; report non-compliance to the appropriate stakeholder(s).

  4. Confers with supervision officers, other jurisdictions, or law enforcement personnel to relay and/or obtain information necessary to ensure probationer/defendant compliance with the conditions of community supervision and/or conditions of bond.
  5. Receives, assesses, and report to the appropriate supervision officer any apparent violations of the conditions of community supervision and/or conditions of bond.
  6. Prepares notices of violation of the conditions of community supervision and/or conditions of bond.
  7. With the approval of the supervisor or assistant supervisor, make recommendations for the modification of the conditions of community supervision and/or conditions of bond.
  8. Processes incoming/outgoing probationers/defendants transferring supervision to/from Tarrant County to/from another Texas county or another state.
  9. Assigns/reassigns probationers/defendants to supervision officers, as needed.
  10. Review case records to determine compliance with CJAD standards, grant conditions, and CSCD Policy and Procedure.
  11. Attempts to locate probationers/defendants who have failed to report to CSCD, as required, by utilizing mail, telephone, or conference with other agencies or individuals, and by utilizing available computer software resources.
  12. Assist supervision officers in referring and scheduling probationers/defendants to attend programs or services ordered by the conditions of community supervision and/or conditions of bond.
  13. Maintains a proficiency in information systems utilized in case management, including, but not limited to, CSCD's electronic case management system, Interstate Compact Tracking System (ICOTS), and Microsoft Office software.
  14. Plans and be responsible for daily workload.
  15. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in criminal justice or closely related field or, in lieu of degree,
  • a high school diploma with at least four (4) years of related experience, is required.
  • Valid Texas driver's license and current automobile liability insurance.
  • Effective, clear, and concise written and verbal communication.
  • Professional and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of CSCD Policies and Procedures; basic to intermediate knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, rules, concepts, guidelines, and procedures in the criminal justice field.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet and/or work processing software, CSCD's electronic case management software and applicable criminal justice software.

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required on a daily basis to sit, walk, climb, stoop, grasp, lift, push, and pull to complete assigned duties.
