About the job:Positions allocable to this class work under the administrative and technical supervision of the Lake Aquatics Manager.
Incumbents provide administrative and technical supervision to lake lifeguards and senior lake lifeguards assigned to boat patrol and shoreline duties on a year-round basis.
Staff members ensure accurate staffing, rule enforcement, and staff proficiency levels per standards.
In addition to the knowledge and skills of lower-level classes, positions in this class must exercise a knowledge of personnel practices, supervisory principles, and departmental policies, procedures, and services in order to ensure the effective performance of subordinates.
**In order to receive credit for possessing Certification in open-water lifesaving you must include a legible copy of the certificate at the time of filing or within 10 business days from the filing end date.

This examination will consist of a structured interview. This assessment will evaluate supervision, training, budget allocation, and scheduling.
The assessment is weighted 100% of your total score. Applicant MUST meet the requirements AND achieve the passing score of 70% or higher to be placed on the eligible list.
Eligibility information:
Candidates who pass the assessment are placed on a list in the order of their score group for a period of twelve (12) months.

The list of successful candidates created from this exam will be used to fill vacancies at Castaic Lake, Bonelli Park and Santa Fe Dam located in Los Angeles County.
