Job Description

Summary

This entry-level trainee position in the Navy involves supporting the collection, analysis, and reporting of statistical data to help with operational decisions.

It suits current students or recent graduates with a strong background in math and statistics who are eager to gain hands-on experience in government data work.

Successful candidates will assist in studies, monitor data accuracy, and learn technical skills under supervision, with potential for future career advancement.

Key Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree program with at least 24 semester hours in mathematics and statistics (including 12 hours in mathematics and 6 hours in statistics)
  • Ability to conduct analysis for data collection, compilation, and interpretation

  • Skills in monitoring computer-generated data compilations for accuracy
  • Assistance in technical statistical calculations for reports and studies

  • You will conduct, analyze, and evaluate special studies as directed, and provide statistical services as required.
  • You will monitor computer produced compilations to ensure accuracy and advise the Branch Head of problem areas and significant finding.
  • You will assist in performing technical, statistical calculations necessary for studies and reports.
