This role involves guiding students through the entire college journey, from applying to graduating, by providing advice on admissions, academics, careers, and finances while also recruiting new students from the community.

Job Purpose:
The Navigator is responsible for delivering high-quality, student-centered support from application through graduation, to support the college’s enrollment management and student success goals.
Job Functions:
1.Serves as the primary admissions recourse person within the Hampton and Colleton
HUBs communicating with the general public, current and prospective students, and
their families on admissions, residency, and enrollment steps. Communicates with
applicants on assigned case load regarding additional requirements, including but not
limited to residency, test scores, transcripts, and other supporting credentials. and
counsels’ students on next steps in the enrollment process. Inputs accurate data into
assigned systems/software. Maintains files as needed.
2.Advises students on academic, career, and financial matters in alignment with guided
pathways. Manages an assigned caseload, delivers personalized outreach, maintains
detailed records in the student success system and may teach First Year Experience
courses.
3.Oversees early alert efforts by leveraging real-time data to provide timely, coordinated
support and first-level interventions from a student’s first year through graduation.
Facilitates communication between faculty and support services, and proactively
monitors and engages special student populations, including high-risk, first-generation,
and academically at-risk students.
4.Represents the college as a recruiter by visiting schools, attending community events,
and engaging with prospective students. Builds partnerships with local school systems
to strengthen outreach and enrollment efforts.
5.Perform other duties as assigned.
Required: Bachelor’s degree and experience in Student Services programs.
Preferred: Bachelor’s in education, Communication or Pathways specific area, with One (1) yr of experience in student services, preferably in student advising in a community college setting.
