Job Description

Summary

This job is for a student helper in the Michigan Department of Transportation's Office of Aeronautics, where you'll handle everyday office tasks and help track budgets, grants, contracts, and payments for airport projects.

It's a part-time role limited to 129 hours per month, ideal for college students studying business, finance, or related fields who want hands-on experience in government operations.

No prior work experience is needed, just a willingness to learn and support team efforts.

THIS IS A NON-CAREER APPOINTMENT THAT IS LIMITED TO 129 HOURS PER MONTH

This position assists the Office of Aeronautics and the Finance and Operations Unit in performing general office duties and duties related to processing, tracking, monitoring, and reporting of budgets, revenue, expenditures, grants, contracts, and payments. This position also supports the Airport Planning and Development Section with Federal and State grant application data, database updates, and general office duties.

Requirements

Education
Current enrollment in a vocational or technical school, or post-secondary educational institution. MDOT requires enrollment in at least 6 credit hours per semester/term excluding summers and continuously enrolled and earning the required credits.
