Requirements

In this hands-on role, you will play a key part in managing federal surplus property by receiving, recording, storing, and distributing materials across warehouse locations.

Your attention to detail will be essential as you photograph, barcode, and enter property into our Federal Surplus inventory management system, assign service charges, and maintain organized, safe, and well-stocked work areas.

Work involves operating forklifts and pallet jacks to load, unload, and relocate items, while ensuring shipments are accurate, properly documented, and meet quality standards.

You will also assist customers and partner agencies by answering questions, placing hold tags, and providing information on available property and bureau programs.

This position offers the opportunity to develop valuable skills in warehouse operations, equipment handling, inventory systems, and customer service, all while contributing to efficient, safe, and reliable surplus property services.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position is considered an Essential Employee - required to work when an office closing is authorized.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of experience in stores control work, including one year of experience with responsibility for the operation of a small storeroom; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a high school or vocational school; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.


Additional Requirements:

  • You must have at least two years of experience operating a forklift and pallet jack.
  • You must have at least two years of experience with warehousing operations.
  • You must have at least one year of experience using computer programs.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.


Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Professional experience researching data in websites
