Full Job Description

Joining the Secret Service, Office of Strategy, Planning, and Innovation, Enterprise Analytics Division will allow you to coordinate with all offices and governing bodies to ensure the Secret Service's current and future resource requirements are well developed and align with strategic priorities to ensure mission success.

To be considered qualified for this position you must meet the following qualification requirements for the respective grade level in which you are applying.

Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Basic Requirements AND Minimum Qualification requirements as listed below: BASIC REQUIREMENTS: A.

Degree: that included 15 semester hours in statistics (or in mathematics and statistics, provided at least 6 semester hours were in statistics), and 9 additional semester hours in one or more of the following: physical or biological sciences, medicine, education, or engineering; or in the social sciences including demography, history, economics, social welfare, geography, international relations, social or cultural anthropology, health sociology, political science, public administration, psychology, etc.

Credit toward meeting statistical course requirements should be given for courses in which 50 percent of the course content appears to be statistical methods, e.g., courses that included studies in research methods in psychology or economics such as tests and measurements or business cycles, or courses in methods of processing mass statistical data such as tabulating methods or electronic data processing.

OR B. Combination of education and experience -- courses as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

The experience should have included a full range of professional statistical work such as (a) sampling, (b) collecting, computing, and analyzing statistical data, and (c) applying statistical techniques such as measurement of central tendency, dispersion, skewness, sampling error, simple and multiple correlation, analysis of variance, and tests of significance IN ADDITION TO MEETING THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS ABOVE, YOU MUST ALSO MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: You qualify for the GS-11 level (starting salary$85,447.00) if you possess one of the following: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level performing duties such as: Conducting statistical analyses and studies, interpreting data, and communicating findings and recommendations.

Collecting and analyzing quantitative data, interpreting results, and providing data-driven recommendations to support decision-making.

Conducting statistical studies, ensuring data accuracy, and resolving issues in data collection and analysis.

Using database and software skills to define data systems and reporting needs to support agency programs and operations. Preparing correspondence, reports, and briefing materials for diverse audiences.

OR You have successfully completed a Ph.D.

or equivalent doctoral degree, or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M., if related, from an accredited college or university that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform this work.

Major Duties:

The selectee will serve as a Statistician in the Office of Strategy, Planning, and Innovation, Enterprise Analytics Division.

Typical work assignments include: Plans and coordinates sensitive quantitative studies providing expert statistical analysis ensuring scientific precision and clear communication of data to support agency-wide decisions.

Collects and analyzes data, interpreting results and developing recommendations to provide insight to support decision-making.

Leads the development and enhancement of data collection systems and analytic tools and creates specialized reports to support making informed decisions.

Conducts advanced statistical studies, ensuring data accuracy and resolving issues in data collection and analysis.

Prepares correspondence and briefings for varied audiences and represents the agency at interagency forums.
