Summary

This job involves working at the International Bridge in Michigan, where you'll greet visitors, collect tolls, help drivers cross safely, check trucks for rule compliance, and assist with surveys, security, and emergency tasks.

It's a part-time role limited to about 129 hours per month, operating 24/7 with shifts including weekends and holidays.

The Mackinac Bridge on a sunny day with blue skies and trees in the forefront with the MDOT logo and the MDOT webpage address.

THIS IS A NON-CAREER APPOINTMENT THAT IS LIMITED TO 129 HOURS PER MONTH AND 1,039 HOURS PER APPOINTMENT

This position greets customers, collects tolls; assists drivers across the bridge; checks truck traffic to ensure compliance with bridge rules and regulations; assists in taking surveys, helps law enforcement agencies in locating sought vehicles, delivers emergency messages, and assists in distributing customer comment cards as necessary. This position also acts as secondary operator of Security Operations Center as deemed necessary by supervision depending upon current security level. As a 24/7 operation, the position requires working various schedules which will include weekends and holidays as needed. This position requires possession of a valid driver's license to perform miscellaneous bridge escort services as requested and assist in driving motorists across the bridge.

The "Salary" listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate through the maximum rate of the State Worker position.
